A conversation on moving through seasons, and moving our bodies
Meet my friend & collaborator Claudia Germuga!
I’m currently in a season of collaboration, and it’s so sweet.
Today, I want to introduce you to my friend, sister, and co-creator, Claudia Germuga.
We first connected through a mutual friend but properly met over Instagram, oh those 2020 days, when I invited her to join an interview series on living with intention. Some of you may remember that series!—it was very cute.
From the start, Claudia and I connected on using movement as a path back to the Self. We both were dancers and found our way into teaching Pilates, shifting from performance into a more healing, nourishing relationship with movement and our bodies. What I love about her offerings is how they weave mindful, intentional movement with real strength—you will be sore from her class!! But always coming from a place of honoring the body, never punishing.
She’s an incredible teacher, breathwork facilitator, and a wealth of knowledge on cycle syncing, nervous system regulation, and embodiment. When people ask me about her, I just say: a literal ball of sunshine. A double Capricorn with a Leo moon—grounded and playful in perfect harmony.
Recently, we sat down to talk about our upcoming Spring Equinox Ceremony and our Tuscany Retreat—spaces we’re creating for deep presence, exploration, and renewal. Here’s a glimpse of our conversation:
Eden: What are you most excited about?
Claudia: For the retreat! I am so excited to just be away with the babes in the sun! It’s like the goddess curriculum. There's such a gentle structure on retreat, but also so much freedom. The the Capricorn in me loves the structure, but the Leo in me loves the freedom.
Eden: It's actually hilarious that you have so much Capricorn and I have so much Cancer, we have that balance of opposites, of earth and water. But then you're the Leo moon, I'm the Aquarius moon, so those are also opposites, balancing fire and air. We really have the full elemental plate happening.
Claudia: I feel like we have such different flavors, but overlapping values.
Eden: Yes, when we initially connected it was clear that we had this shared philosophy that like we loveeee movement—we're movers, we're dancers—but also for us movement is so much bigger than “fitness.” It’s this metaphor for all aspects of life, identity, expression. Being in your body is the template.
Claudia: Exactly. In my practice I need there to be depth, I want to use movement to explore my patterns, my edges. I think movement makes those things glaringly obvious– and that's what I'm really interested in. When I know where my edges are, I can expand them, or dance along them. I can hold myself better through anything that comes up because I know where my boundaries are, and I know where I'm working to hold more.
Eden: This is why I love bringing movement, breathwork, meditation and astrology together—they all help us move through life, not just physically but emotionally, mentally, and energetically. And especially for the Equinox, it’s such a meaningful moment in the year. The Solstices & Equinoxes, I call them the Earth's holidays, because before there were holidays that we decided were days off work, there was the changing of seasons. That's how we marked time. Our bodies are so tied to the seasons of nature. I don't know if you've ever noticed that your hair grows faster in the summer—it's like we're basically just plants.
Claudia: I was so gonna say that, I feel like it's Christmas.
Eden: The Winter Solstice!
Claudia: It's so nice to feel that sense of “this is a holiday,” and to build just as much sacred time around it. Time to gather, time to connect, time to exchange insights and use it as a launch pad to invite in the next chapter—much the same way that we treat New Year's now. It's like this is the New Year.
Eden: Actually, this is the New Year.
Claudia: Oh! I love it. Something that came up for me recently, that I was like noticing in conversation, was cynicism. I feel like for me, that's always like a sign that that emotions are calcified. There's not really room for breath to come through, or hope to come through. There's a lack of flexibility in the emotional body. It's sometimes a hard pattern to notice within yourself, because it happens really slowly over time. I think for those seeking some inspiration, or feeling in a rut, and wanting to break through, this ceremony could be such a gentle and supportive space.
Eden: Ooo, you're making me think of the Astrology IRL class I taught recently about the elements. We went through what each element looks like when it's balanced, and when you are overusing it or under using it. Air in balance is all about that spaciousness, being able to see different perspectives, but still feel clear in yours. It's about being able to connect and express yourself. When there's not enough air, it's that rigidity, that pessimism, cynicism. You're too zoomed in, there's not enough space in the perspective. When air is being overused it's too flighty and all over the place, there's no grounding. The thing about breathwork is it opens up that space within our bodies and minds, literally through breath, but it’s also SO grounding. Especially given the turmoil in our world right now, and the challenging transitions so many people are moving through, breathwork feels like THE medicine.
Claudia: Yes, I agree so much. Breathe some space into everything, the inner and the outer.
